At 07:35 last Tuesday, a unit at Eskom's Kendal power station, near the town of Ogies in Mpumalanga, tripped, forcing the shutdown of another at 07:39 and a third at 07:45.

This is roughly enough electricity to power all of Cape Town on a winter night.
